MAINE: Best Summertime Getaway
I had the pleasure to attend the most beautiful wedding in a quaint village about 30 minutes outside of Portland Maine the summer before Covid-19 hit. It was a August wedding but the idyllic temperatures of the Maine coast provided the right amount of summertime heat and cool water breezes.
My husband and I decided to rent a wonderful Airbnb in the town of Wiscasset, Maine. It was about 52 minutes from Portland and about 2 1/2 hours to Bar Harbor with plenty of sightseeing in between.
The town of Wiscasset was very sweet with a great downtown. There were plenty of coffee shops and book stores as well as two steps away from our rental Red’s Eats a famous lobster shack. We fell in love all the beauty of this special place and the surrounding areas.

Our first amazing luxury hotel is located in Cape Neddick, ME. The Cliff House Resort features 266 luxury rooms, suites and cottages with coastal views and exceptional hotel amenities. Prices starting at $860 per night. If you want to be right on the coast and feel pampered and surrounded by luxury Cliff House is a great option.

Next is a stunning resort in Kennebuck, ME called the White Barn Inn . The inn features 26 well appointed rooms redesigned by interior designer Jenny Wolf . Ten of the rooms are suites that will take your breath away. Prices starting at $899 per night. The luxury finishes and histrical touches in the inn take you back in time with all the modern amenities you need on your vacation.

My final great option is also located in Kennebunk, ME. The Tides Beach Club is a wonderful resort has 21 guest rooms which include 2 ocean front suites. The fun bright coastal decor is an interior lovers dream and the two ocean suites were inspired and furnished by Jonathan Adler. Prices starting at $329 per night. This reasonably priced resort does not skimp on style and its location right on the ocean can not be beat.
